Adult female presents with sinus pressure and pain. Pain is behind and below her eyes. She is also having some head pain. Pain started about a week ago and has progressed. Very tender in her maxilla and bilaterally over her mastoid processes.
Subluxations at her atlas (C1), C5 and T1. She also had some lower thoracic, lumbar and pelvic subluxations.
Treatment included reduction of subluxations. We also did some cranio facial massage for the sinuses, interferential therapy and ice to the neck and upper back.
Source of pain was most likely due to pressure affecting nervous impulses from the stellate ganglion and irritation of the trigeminal nerve.
Pain and pressure was 50% relieved after treatment. Pain free after the second visit and continued to have no pain one month later. Patient continued consistent care to maintain proper flow of nervous impulses.
